FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: from a space vehicle, attenuation of light flux passing through the atmosphere twice is determined in the oxygen absorption spectral band and in the adjacent hydrogen absorption spectral band. Excess concentration of hydrogen, which indicates an imminent earthquake, is determined. Concentration of hydrogen in the zone where an earthquake is imminent is measured. A family of traces of measurements of volume concentration of hydrogen on the flight course of the space vehicle on successive turns is obtained. Parameters of the seismic impact are predicted from the obtained data.
EFFECT: high reliability of prediction results.
