FIELD: power industry.
SUBSTANCE: at operation of nuclear reactor with beryllium retarder the operation of which at power alternates with stops the duration of which is restricted, and allowable duration of shutdown is determined by the ratio: , where: T - allowable shutdown period at planned loading of nuclear fuel into active zone, month; ρ - reactivity margin of reactor at planned loading of nuclear fuel into active zone without considering beryllium poisoning, βeff; Q - energy generation of reactor during operation of beryllium laying, MW·day; a, b, c - constants for each reactor, which are determined by statistical analysis of the results of calibrations of reactor control elements at different moments: before the beginning of each new campaign, after its completion, at different time intervals after reactor shutdown.
EFFECT: increasing service life of reactor without replacing beryllium retarder.
