SUBSTANCE: proposed device for packing piles on pallets comprises device to pull flexible flat tube made of sheet material from feed source, gripping device to grip material and open tube, and device to close material for at least partial closing of tube approximately across its lengthwise axis. It comprises also cutting device to divide tube in separate sections and covering device to pull said tube section over packed articles. Besides, device comprises appliance to fold said tube in V-like manner so that two webs of material are located one on another, while V-like fold of sheet material is directed to tube center. Also, device comprises additionally appliance to close tube so that V-like folds and material web areas are locked relative to each other in closing position, appliances to make folds, grippers to grip tube material and open tube to form approximately square cross section. Grippers may grip material at least in four points and displace relative each other along two axes so that preset sections of lengthwise and crosswise edges vary in folding to set fold size. Method is implemented using described device in compliance with this invention.
EFFECT: simplified design, higher efficiency and expanded performances.
