FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: input radiation spectrum with a double peak, having a high-energy part and a low-energy part, is generated; said radiation spectrum with a double peak is passed through a sample of a multi-phase fluid in order to generate an output radiation spectrum; said output radiation spectrum is detected and the high-energy photon count and low-energy photon count is determined; the ratio of the input high-energy radiation count to the input low-energy radiation count is calculated; accelerating voltage of the X-ray beam generator used at said generation step is controlled based on said ratio; beam current of the X-ray beam generator is controlled based on one of input high-energy radiation count, input low-energy radiation count and the sum of the high-energy reference count and the low-energy reference count; the fraction of the fluid of at least one substance in said sample of multi-phase fluid is determined using said high-energy photon count and said low-energy photon count.
EFFECT: possibility of maintaining time-stable voltage and beam current.
