FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: specimen is heated to operating temperatures to define its temperature and judge on originating thermal strains from specimen stress. Note here that tubular cooled specimen is used. Specimen inner cavity is divided along lengthwise axis into two isolated parts by web to allow individual feed of coolant media therein. Specimen outer surface is heated. Specimen is continuously cooled in tests on feeding coolants with different or identical preset qualitative and quantitative parameters to measure temperatures of opposite walls of specimen of each specimen and to measure specimen flexure in plane perpendicular to that of division web.
EFFECT: possibility to estimate magnitude and character of thermal strains.
