FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: image forming apparatus has processing units which are tightly placed around corresponding light-sensitive elements and act on the light-sensitive elements, a light emission section which forms an electrostatic latent image for detection on the light-sensitive element, and a detection section which detects that the electrostatic latent image passes through a position facing a processing unit, and a control section which controls correction of the superposition error based on the detection result.
EFFECT: solving the problem which arises when detecting a conventional powder image with an optical sensor and easier use of the image forming apparatus.
