FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: collimating lens, a Fourier lens and an output mirror are placed in front of the line of laser diodes, having a rear totally reflecting mirror and an antireflection coating on the exit aperture. The Fourier lens performs direct Fourier transformation of the aperture of the line of laser diodes. The output mirror, placed in the Fourier plane of said Fourier lens is a phase grating mirror having a transparent substrate with a corrugated surface with a rectangular cross-section and a dielectric mirror. The period X of the rectangular corrugation where D is the distance between centres of neighbouring laser diodes in the line of laser diodes, f2 is the focal distance of said Fourier lens. The depth of grooves on said corrugated surface on which the dielectric mirror is deposited is equal to a quarter of the operating wavelength λ in a vacuum.
EFFECT: reducing incidental loss in a resonator while ensuring collective in-phase generation of all laser diodes in the line.
