FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: device for obtaining and analysing analyte ions has a UV laser. The device also has a target, having analyte molecules and lying on the path of the laser radiation. The device also has a system for detecting analyte ions and an airtight housing lying between the target and the laser, such that its longitudinal axis is superimposed with the path of the laser radiation. An analyte molecule ionising system and a system for extracting and transporting analyte ions to their detection system are placed in series and coaxially along the longitudinal axis inside the housing. The housing is fitted with nozzles for inlet and outlet of gas and a system for inlet and transportation of laser radiation to the target. The device also includes a gas-dynamic system for inlet and transportation of analyte molecules from the target to the ionisation system coaxially and opposite the direction of movement of the laser radiation to the target. The device also includes a gas outlet nozzle between the ionisation system and the analyte ion extraction system. The nozzle for inlet of buffer gas from the circulation system lies on the wall of the housing on the laser radiation input side, which lies such that its optical focus lies behind the target.
