FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of obtaining and analysing analyte ions in a gas phase involves feeding analysed gas into an optical resonator formed by interference mirrors, whereby a stream of laser radiation simultaneously enters the optical resonator along its longitudinal axis from the interference mirror. Frequency of the laser radiation ω is converted by a nonlinear optical element to frequency ωop for photoionisation of analyte molecules. After reflection from the interference mirrors of the optical resonator, laser radiation at frequency ωop passes through the analysed gas several times. Analyte ions formed after multiple interactions of the laser radiation at frequency ωop with the analysed gas are released and directed into a drift spectrometer, from which information signals enter a recording and processing system.
EFFECT: possibility of changing and adjusting degree of ionisation of the analyte, control and increasing sensitivity of analysing analyte ions in a gas phase.
