FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a catalyst based on mixed oxides for hydrogenating organic compounds, a method of producing said catalyst and a hydrogenation method. Described is a catalyst for hydrogenating organic compounds, obtained by reducing a preliminary catalyst consisting of a) cobalt and b) one or more elements from the alkali metal or alkali-earth metal group, wherein elements a) and b) are at least partly in form of their mixed oxides. Described is a method of producing a catalyst for hydrogenating organic compounds by reducing said preliminary catalyst Described is a method of hydrogenating compounds containing at least one unsaturated carbon-carbon, carbon-nitrogen or carbon-oxygen bond or partial or complete hydrogenation of the nucleus of aromatic compounds using the catalyst described above.
EFFECT: high stability of the catalyst and simple technology of hydrogenating organic compounds.
