FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing 3,7-diaryl-1,3,5,7-dithiadiazooctanes of general formula (1): , which involves reaction of hydrogen sulphide-saturated aqueous formaldehyde solution (37%) with arylamine (m-toluidene, m-nitroaniline) in molar ratio of initial reagents arylamine:CH2O:H2S=10:60:40, at temperature 0°C and atmospheric pressure for 2.5-3.5 hours in a water-ethanol medium.
EFFECT: method of obtaining novel compounds which can be used in the chemistry of biologically active substances with directed effect, and, owing to high complexing ability, can be used as efficient sorbents and extraction agents for rare metals.
