FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: nut is loaded axially in two stages. At the first stage there is determined deformation of turns of threaded connection. At the second stage the examined nut is loaded with axial force and relative displacement of turns of threaded connection is repeatedly determined; the results are compared with data obtained at the first stage. As sensors there are used displacement pickups installed in direct vicinity from turns of a bolt and the nut. During the first stage the tested nut is loaded by one turn. There is plotted a calibrating graph of dependence of relative displacement of turns on applied load. At the second stage there are determined displacements of any of turns of the tested nut. Load on a turn of threaded connection is determined by the calibrating graph corresponding to this displacement.
EFFECT: upgraded accuracy of meausurement due to direct measurement of relative displacements of turns under axial load and due to comparison of these displacements with calibrating ones.
