FIELD: study of friction in thread. SUBSTANCE: model of screw is manufactured in the form of rod with sections of thread and models of nuts put on them. Each model of nut is composed of sleeve with hole in bottom part and compression spring installed in it with clearance. Lever of measuring means is coupled with one end to sleeve in radial direction and with the other end contacts calibrated spring via roller. Sections of rod have different angles of inclination of thread. Shape of cross-section of turns of compression spring corresponds to shape of spaces of thread. Direction of thread and of coils of spring coincide and their medium diameters are equal. Measuring means is positioned on side of spring twisting.
