SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, in particular to dentistry and is intended for complex examination of patients with diseases of temporomandibular joint. On orthopantomogram, made with joined dentitions, width of both articular head and glenoid fossa is measured. If their ratio is less than 0.7, tolerance is estimated as low.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to estimate degree of temporomandibular joint tolerance to chewing loading due to quantitative determination of anatomical correspondence of dimensions of joint surfaces.
