FIELD: medicine, dentistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to study dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) in patients with myogenic pain. According to the questionnaire, markers of TMJ dysfunction, articular, muscular, neurological, are detected in the patient. The patient is asked to fill out questionnaires for assessing the quality of life according to the SF-36 questionnaire. By means of a physical examination, the symptoms of markers of joint and muscle dysfunctions accepted for diagnosis are revealed, and the state of occlusal contacts is determined. The degree of their influence on the formation of myogenic pain is assessed and the one with the greatest degree of influence is selected. The absence of a symptom of pain during movements of the lower jaw is determined. Additional studies are carried out with cone-beam computed tomography of the skull with 3D visualization, namely: examination of teeth and dentition, 3D cephalometry and screening analysis of the TMJ.
EFFECT: method provides optimization of the diagnostic process, individual approach to the choice of methods and scope of studies, the possibility of optimizing the scope and composition of research methods, optimizing the radiological scope of the study, reducing radiation and physiological loads on the patient.
