FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: in cooling channels there are additionally installed pipes coaxial relative to walls of channels. Water is supplied via the pipes. Pressure tight cavities between walls of the channels and pipes are filled with intermediated coolant not forming explosion -hazardous mixtures with melt. Coolant is circulated at atmospheric pressure. Additional cavities are made in elements of the structure of a case of the water-cooled melting tool. The cavities are filled with material of high specific heat of fusion, melting temperature of which is lower, than temperature of creepage of material of the melting tool.
EFFECT: avoiding direct contact of water and melt of reaction material in case of crucible burn-through and overheat of crucible structure causing its destruction at emergency failure of cooling system functioning.
