FIELD: metallurgy, procession of domestic waste materials, production of water vapor with high-level energy parameters. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of taking off heat with use of heat transfer agent being liquid sodium; moving liquid sodium by two single-direction separate flows; feeding one flow by heat exchange pipes; feeding other flow directly along surface to be cooled with simultaneous flowing around heat exchange tubes. Melting furnace has housing in the form of double-wall metallic envelope with sealed cavity between its walls for placing heat exchange tubes in which one flow of heat transfer agent moves. The above mentioned sealed cavity has inlet and outlet branch pipes joined with systems for supplying and draining heat transfer agent. That allows motion of other flow of heat transfer agent along that sealed cavity with simultaneous flowing around inner surfaces of metallic envelope and heat exchange tubes.
