FIELD: woodworking industry.

SUBSTANCE: method of contact drying of hulled or cut wooden veneer consists in the fact that veneer from newly cut wood, with newly cut wood moisture (RH1), is heated and simultaneously compressed, as a result dried wooden veneer is produced, at the same time the specified veneer (5) from newly cut wood is fed between an assembly (3) of the first tape and an assembly (4) of the second tape and is brought in contact with them, besides, the first tape assembly comprises the first metal tape (1), and the second tape assembly comprises the second metal tape (2) together with at least one porous permeable strip (6) or a porous surface section between the second metal tape and wooden veneer; the first metal tape (1) is heated to the first temperature (T1), and the second metal tape (2) is cooled down to the second temperature (T2), which is lower than the specified first temperature (T1), by value of temperature difference (ΔT); tape assemblies (3, 4) are pressed in direction to each other during the specified heating and cooling, as a result of which the compressing pressure (P) is applied to the wooden veneer between the specified assemblies from the specified first metal strip and the specified permeable strip or the surface section; condensation of water is provided, which is separated from the wooden veneer (5) under action of the first temperature, in the specified permeable strip (6) or in the specified surface section under the action of the second temperature; and thus dried wooden veneer (5) is removed from the area between the first tape assembly (3) and the second tape assembly (4). The device comprises the first tape assembly (3), which includes the first metal tape (1), and the second tape assembly (4), which includes the second metal strip (2) and the porous permeable strip (6) or the porous surface section in the area between the second metal tape and wooden veneer (5). The device comprises heating facilities (11) to heat the first metal tape (1) to the first temperature (T1) and cooling facilities (12) to maintain the second metal tape (2) at the second temperature (T2), which is lower than the specified first temperature (T1) approximately by the value of temperature difference (ΔT). Besides, the device comprises compressing facilities for pressing the first tape assembly (3) and the second tape assembly (4) in direction to each other during heating and cooling, as a result the compressing pressure (P) is applied between them to wooden veneer. The first tape assembly (3) and the second tape assembly (4) move with identical speed (V) with the help of a control unit (9).

EFFECT: even moisture, reduced formation of cracks in process of flaking, retention of veneer volume variation at minimum level during drying, production of dried veneer, which may be used to make plywood or laminate flaky wood with acceptable strength properties.
