FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: excitation of waves in rods, particularly with high amplitude values, is used to calibrate acceleration and force sensors. A reference sensor and the sensor to be calibrated are put on a Hopkinson rod. Excitation is carried out at the end of the Hopkinson rod opposite the sensors using an electromechanical actuating mechanism for converting an electrical signal into a mechanical force. The electromechanical actuating mechanism can be controlled by an electronic control circuit.

EFFECT: invention enables the desired effect on the acceleration and force pulse shape and change thereof.
