FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises sawing of slab 3 whereat one of rotary disks 3 is rigidly positioned on edging machine. Width of required blank is set between rotary disks by displacing second disk. Width is continuously controlled by laser unit to optimise cutting along lines 13 from laser indicator. Slab is arranged on machine at the distance from moving disk that allows cutting minimum-length waney 11 off and smooth rejection of said waney. Said waney is rejected on moving saw disk side. Said waney is displaced on stationary saw disk by means of push rod 2 parallel with slab feed. Proposed device comprises work table 1, push rods 2, disks 3, 4, pneumatic clamps 5, draw-off plow 6, divider disk 7, riving knife 8, and laser unit 9. One of rotary disks 3 is rigidly secured on worktable while another disk 4 may displace horizontally relative to the first one. Draw-off plow 6 is arranged at the point of rotation of second disk. Push rod may displace waney 11 on the side of fixed disk. Laser unit is arranged above worktable, in slab feed zone, to optimise cutting, that incorporates sawn notch indicator to control produced blank.

EFFECT: expanded range of sawn slabs and higher yield of finished products.
