FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and aims at increasing efficiency of two-section diesel locomotive operating conditions. Method of operation consists in optimisation of power plant operation by combining power sources. Satellite GLONAS system is used to control track horizontal and vertical profiles and state, meteorological and climatic factors via system of locomotive operating parameter remote control. Operating conditions are optimised for various-output diesel generators. At low load and idling, low-output diesel generator is switched on. At mean loads, standard diesel generator is switched on. At means increased loads, low-output and high-output diesel generators are switched on. At high loads, low-output and standard-output diesel generators are switched on. At high increased loads, high-output and standard-output diesel generators are switched on. At maximum load, standard diesel generator, low-output and high-outputs disel generators are switched on. Diesel locomotive consists of two sections, first accommodating standard diesel generator and second housing high- and low-output diesel generators.
