FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport. Diesel locomotive comprises frame with bogies and suspensions, body, power plant, traction generator, traction motors, two-machine assembly, compressor, power supply, cooling and lubing, starting, electrical and pneumatic systems, and control mechanisms. Power plant is made up of several identical units. Each unit is made up of hollow vertical torus accommodating valve in its top section and with its bottom section communicated with the inlet and outlet chambers of screw propulsor. Rotors of all propulsors are fitted on common shaft. Tor opposite side is provided with water-tune cooler communicated with cooling system that comprises compressor, cooling radiator, drying filter, capillary nozzle opened inside evaporator case and drive motor. Cooling system is filled with Freon. Power plant control mechanisms are connected with tubular water heater fuel and air feed control system and tubular water heater cooling control system.

EFFECT: simplified design of power plant, reduced heat losses and fuel savings.
