FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport facilities, particularly, to diesel-locomotive shunters. Proposed method consists in dividing shunters of one traction section into two groups. Note here that first group is located at the end of traction section to accelerate traction motors to rated power at minimum specific fuel consumption and to generate electric power for in-locomotive consumption while other portion of electric power is fed to contact system. Second group of shunters is located at the beginning or at the center of traction section to supply traction motors from contact system. Diesel-locomotive shunter comprises load-bearing frame, cowl-type body, control cabin, and electrical power plant. Note here that, additionally, it incorporates trolleys rigidly secured at control cabin roof and electrically connected with traction motors of power plant.
EFFECT: fuel savings.
