FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway shunting locomotive with primary motors incorporating storage battery and electrochemical generator. Proposed method consists in optimising operating conditions of power plant, combining power generation and recovering electric power. Combining consists in selected optimum connection between electrochemical generator, diesel generator and storage batteries. In idling locomotives are supplied from diesel generator, at low and medium loads electrochemical generator and storage batteries supply traction motors. At high load, traction motors are supplied from electrochemical generator, storage batteries and diesel generator. Electric power recovery is carried out in locomotive braking using electric power for charging storage batteries. Said batteries are charged by diesel generator and electrochemical generator. Shunting locomotive is equipped with electrolyser with three inlets and two outlets, oxygen and hydrogen accumulators and, at least, one electrochemical hydrogen-oxygen generator with two inputs and two outputs.
EFFECT: travel between running sheds increase is more than 2 times higher, hence, higher power output.
