FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: method includes preparation of openings, drilling of degassing holes on surface on another mine section prepared for actual mining, their connection to a degassing system, extraction of methane and air mixtures and periodic measurements of flow and concentration of methane in captured mixtures. Main and auxiliary systems of vacuum degassing are developed in the mine section during its mining. Using the main one, gas and air mixtures that are standard in methane quality are extracted, and using the auxiliary one - mixtures are extracted from previously mined adjacent sections with methane content below its explosion level. On previously mined sections in order to extract methane those wells are used, which are drilled on an existing mine section, methane content in a captured mixture of the main degassing system is maintained as at least 25-35 vol.%, and in the auxiliary degassing system - less than 3.5 vol.%. Degassing wells at previously mined sections are temporarily disconnected from the auxiliary degassing system with methane content in it below 3.0 vol.%, and are again connected to it after methane concentration increases in the mined space of the previously mined long face up to 4.5 vol.%.
EFFECT: increased safety of mining by gas factor at mine sections in development of gas-bearing coal beds.
