FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: time instants for receiving radio signals, transmitted from three radio beacon centres with top and bottom transmitting antenna at each centre, are recorded on an object mainly based on the time position of the leading edge of arriving pulses of radio signals. Phase centres of the top and bottom antennae are arranged in a defined way. Spatial coordinates are determined from expressions which depend on the average values of repeatedly measured differences between reception times of corresponding radio signals. Accuracy is selected from three alternatives for determining spatial coordinates of the object, which enables to obtain an axially symmetric coverage area of systems performing said selection and significantly increases volume thereof.
EFFECT: high efficiency of transmitting radio signals and possibility of varying configuration of the coverage area of a radio system and formation thereof depending on the set task.
