FIELD: information technology.

SUBSTANCE: first timer is used for each data packet arriving on a wireless communication device packet data convergence protocol layer. The first timer can be configured based on allowing delay, indicated in accordance with service quality requirements for the data packet. The data packet can be reset if the timer runs out before the data packet leaves the packet data convergence protocol layer. Also, a second timer is used for the data packet when the data packet arrives on the radio communication line control layer. The data packet can be rest if the second timer runs out before the data packet is successfully transmitted to a receiver.

EFFECT: avoiding consumption of limited resources associated with transmission over a radio channel.
