FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of making soda-lime glass containing a fraction of a glass base which contains the following in wt %: SiO2 - 67-75; Na2O - 10-20; CaO -5-15; Al2O3 - 0-7; K2O - 0-7, involves feeding glass raw material into a furnace to form glass melt. The glass melt is then poured into a tin bath to obtain a glass strip. The glass strip is then directed into the lehr where it is annealed. At least one main surface of the glass strip is treated with AlCl3 in or directly in front of the lehr when the glass strip is at temperature approximately ranging from 540°C to 850°C. Treatment involves depositing a mixture of AlCl3 and at least one solvent onto the surface of the glass strip, where the mixture contains approximately 1-25% AlCl3.
EFFECT: high alkali resistance of the glass.
