FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to deformation processing of metals and may be used in production of long ultra fine grain metal billets. Proposed method comprises alternating-sign deformation in intersecting channels. Deformation center is produced by shifting axes of symmetry of said channels with simultaneous axial expansion. Shear strain centers are sequentially generated in every section of processed billet by matrices in said intersecting planes. Matrices feature identical-diameter disk shape with eccentric channels and may rotate. Said channels feature parallel axes with circular spacers, their thickness being defined by the following relation: where E' is eccentricity of adjacent channels, mm; α is inclination of biller axis in coming from one channel into another.
EFFECT: higher uniformity of ultra fine grain structure distribution over billet cross section.
