FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to welding and may be used for certification of welding equipment. Proposed method comprises additional frequency processing of welding current and voltage oscillograms in using reference and actual arc welding units and selecting at least three data ranges: high-frequency range of 500-5000 Hz, medium-frequency range of 10-500 Hz and low-frequency range of 0.1-10 Hz. Besides it comprises defining welding condition parameters variation factors for actual and reference units, comparing said factors to define, from said comparison, welding properties of arc welding unit.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of testing, hence, higher quality of welding.
