FIELD: method for manual electric-arc welding of root seam by consumable electrode with use of modulated electric current, possibly manufacture of welded articles of small thickness in different three-dimensional positions.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of automatically controlling duration of welding current pulses and superimposing additional electric current pulses with frequency exceeding 50 Hz during pauses between main electric current pulses; setting duration of additional electric current pulses depending upon diameter of electrode and its type in range 2 - 7 mcs; limiting duration of main electric current pulses by value providing formation of "lock key" at partially filling it between main pulses with melt metal; setting frequency of main pulses according to program or automatically in inverse proportion of electric arc mean voltage error from nominal value for each diameter of electrode and its type.

EFFECT: improved physical stability of electric arc burning, stability of welding process.
