FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of producing linear alpha-olefins through oligomerisation of ethylene in a reactor in the presence of a catalyst and a solvent, and a reactor installation for realising said method. Described is a method of producing linear alpha-olefins through oligomerisation of ethylene in a reactor in the presence of a catalyst and a solvent, characterised by that a product stream from the reactor, containing solvent, catalyst and linear alpha-olefins, is heated using at least one heating apparatus to temperature which ensures almost complete dissolution and/or melting of all linear alpha-olefins in the product stream, where heating is carried out in a catalyst removal section, where the catalyst is deactivated and removed, the dwell time of the stream of alpha-olefins from the reactor output to the catalyst removal section is less than 2 minutes, and temperature is maintained until final removal of undesirable components from the product stream in order to prevent clogging of the equipment and the piping system downstream the heating apparatus. The invention also describes apparatus for producing linear alpha-olefins according to said method, which comprises a reactor, having an output for the product stream containing solvent, catalyst and linear alpha-olefins, and a heating apparatus for heating the product stream coming from the reactor, where the heating apparatus lies in the catalyst removal section linked to the reactor, and the catalyst removal section is fitted directly next to the reactor output.
EFFECT: realising the method without deposition of high-molecular weight oligomers in the catalyst removal section and in the equipment and piping system lying lower than said section.
