FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a catalyst composition for ethylene oligomerization comprising a catalyst and a cocatalyst, the catalyst comprising zirconium, and the cocatalyst contains ethyl aluminum sesquichloride and diethylaluminum chloride in a ratio of 3:1 by weight, with an Al:Zr molar ratio of 35:1. Also, variants of the method for oligomerization of an olefin in the presence of such a catalyst composition are described, variants of the composition of linear alpha-olefins for the production of polyethylene obtained using such a composition, polyethylene itself, as well as olefin oligomerization reaction variants using the catalyst composition of the invention, and a polyethylene polymer derived from the linear alpha-olefin composition of the invention.
EFFECT: providing an oligomerization catalyst with enhanced catalytic activity and the possibility of obtaining C4-C14-linear alpha-olefins with increased linearity at lower operating temperatures.
