SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to an ethylene oligomerisation method for obtaining straight alpha-olefins in the oligomerisation reactor in the presence of a solvent and a catalyst. The invention describes an ethylene oligomerisation method for obtaining straight alpha-olefins in the oligomerisation reactor in the presence of a solvent and a catalyst, in which the reaction product which contains unreacted ethylene and light straight alpha-olefins is removed from the oligomerisation reactor and then channeled into at least one first direct cooling device (2) for dividing the reaction product into a gaseous fraction which is rich in ethylene, and a liquid fraction rich in light straight alpha-olefins, where at least a portion of the obtained liquid fraction rich in light straight alpha-olefins is fed into a second cooling device (6) for lowering its temperature and then fed into the first direct cooling device (2) once more. The invention also describes an ethylene oligomerisation reactor system for obtaining straight alpha-olefins, preferably using the method described above, which includes an oligomerisation reactor connected to a device for separating unreacted ethylene from light alpha-olefins. The separation device includes at least one direct cooling device (2) with a closed pipe for light alpha-olefins passing through the second cooling device (6).

EFFECT: possibility of smaller heat exchangers or cooling devices, saving power and lowering expenses.
