FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus has a railway wheel pair, tensoresistors connected diametrically into half-bridge strain-gauge circuits and placed on different sides of the axis on concentric diameters of the inner side of the wheel disc, strain-gauge amplifiers, a programmable logic controller, sensors for detecting lateral and angular position of the wheel pair relative the rails, a synchronisation unit which transmits a pulse for synchronising data of the lateral and angular position of the wheel pair relative the rails and vertical and lateral forces at moments in time when diametral axes with half-bridge strain-gauge circuits lie perpendicular to the rails and a unit for transmitting signals over a radio channel, connected to a signal reception unit and an on-board computer.
EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring forces of interaction between a wheel and a rail and cost/performance ratio of the device owing to accounting for lateral and angular position of the wheel pair relative the rail.
