SUBSTANCE: wireless communication network employs a distributed antenna system to provide radio coverage; the wireless communication network has a plurality of access points which provide a service in corresponding coverage areas. An access point within each coverage area is connected to a plurality of antennae which are widely distributed within the coverage area, and radio resources in antennae within overlapping regions of two or more adjacent coverage areas are shared by access points in adjacent coverage areas according to a multiple access scheme, where said antennae within overlapping regions of adjacent coverage areas are additionally connected with said access points in adjacent coverage areas.

EFFECT: larger overlapping regions and providing longer time in order to complete handover.
