FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention is referred to the area of medicine and can be used for diagnostics of complications after inguinal herniotomy. In order to do that the temperature is measured in the area of surgical intervention. Additionally the temperature is measured contralaterally in comparative point located 2.5-3.5 cm above the middle of inguinal ligament. In case of temperature increase in the point in the area of surgical intervention by more than 1°C compared to the temperature in comparison point and maintenance of this alteration for 1 day the conclusion is made on high possibility of wound abscess. In case of decrease of temperature by no less than 1°C compared to the temperature in comparison point and maintenance of this alteration for 1 day the conclusion is made on high possibility of development of complications defined by disruption of arterial blood supply of testicle and tissues in the plastics area.

EFFECT: simple and reliable prognosis of post-surgical complications after inguinal herniotomy; variants of postoperative course, as well as development of right treatment strategy.
