METHOD FOR WOUND COMPLICATIONS PREDICTION FOR PATIENTS, OPERATED DUE TO ANTERIOR ABDOMINAL WALL HERNIA Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC A61B5/01 A61B6/03 A61B17/04

Abstract RU 2612841 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: "IRTIS 2000" computer thermograph is used to determine the local temperature on the entire surface of the anterior abdominal wall with temperature gradient determination. If the local temperature in the plastic zone increases up to 1.8°C on the third day after surgery, smooth postoperative period is predicted. If the local temperature in the plastic zone increases up to 3.0°C and more on the third day after surgery, septic complications from the wound is predicted. If the local temperature in the plastic zone increases up to 1.9-2.9°C on the third day after surgery, postoperative period cannot be predicted. Such patient undergoes a repeated study on the 5th day after the operation. If an increase in local temperature of 1.8°C or less, compared with the surrounding tissues is deteced, uncomplicated postoperative period is concluded. If the temperature gradient in the plastic zone is 1.9°C and more, compared with the surrounding tissues, a conclusion is made on development of septic complications.

EFFECT: simple and non-invasive method provides an objective assessment of local status and therefore timely diagnosis of wound complications in the postoperative period, and a possibility of timely correction of treatment strategy that can improve the immediate and long-term results of treatment for patients with this pathology, shorten the hospital stay.
