FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: method is aimed at reduction of cost of scale removal from the metal strips, particularly from metal strips moving during hot rolling by injection of water onto their surface using collectors with nozzles where water is fed to under pressure. It is not necessary to install full range of new equipment for secondary scale removal due to the fact that low hydraulic pressure is created in the nozzles. Nozzle pressure does not exceed 30 bar (preferably lower than 10 bar but higher than 4 bar). At this to ensure thermal interaction of water supplied to the surface under cleaning equal to thermal interaction reached at common method of scale removal under high pressure, i.e. cooling the line and lowering of oxidized surface temperature to approximately 600°С, the dimensions of the mentioned nozzles are defined so that they could ensure water consumption per line square unit equal to the water consumption per square unit ensured by the high pressure method.

EFFECT: any secondary descaling: both at the finishing mill inlet and rough mill inlet of rolling mill.
