SUBSTANCE: invention refers to safety devices of the lift installations. The lift installation (10) includes the first lift cab (A1), the second lift cab (A2) that are installed with possibility of vertical movement (z) in the common lift well (11) of the lift installation (10), a stop brake drive, a safety device. The safety device contains a data processing system (22), at least one electro-optical system (20) for information acquisition with the first source (21) of light in the first lift cab (A1) and the first detector (22, 24) in the second lift cab (A2) or at the end of the well. The first detector (22, 24) incorporates an optically sensitive area. The first source (20) of light produces the first focused light ray (L1) at the first angle (W1) in relation to the vertical direction (z) and the first angle (W1) is anticipatorily determined in such a way that when the lift cabs (A1, A2) are coming close to each other, the first light ray (L1) falls in the first sensitive area (22) and thus can be detected with the first detector (22, 24) and the first detector (22, 24) evokes the response action - opening of the safety circuit of at least one lift cab (A1, A2), signal for the lift control system, actuation of the brake unit of at least one lift cab (A1, A2), actuation of the safety gear of at least one lift cab (A1, A2), switching of at least one lift cab (A1, A2) to the mode of early warning, alignment of the vertical speed (v1, v2) of at least one lift cab (A1, A2).

EFFECT: improvement of reliability of the lift installation safety system as well as simplification of its design.
