FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the methods of manufacturing of ball coupling and can be used in manufacturing of ball supports of driven wheels of transport vehicles of any type. The method consists in making cylindrical deepening in the body (1). The deepening has bottom non-full sphere surface and central hole. The outer surface of the deformed part shall have free element in the face area. The body (1) comprises friction couple in the form of insert (3;4) and ball stud (5) as well as fixing element (2). After that the body (1) is crimped with face forced by the tool (8) in the axial direction. The tool (8) has preliminary made guiding cone surface transferring into cam surface and then into general cone surface. The coupling body (1) crimping is made in the following steps: first by sliding of the free element of deformed body (1) part along the guiding line of cone surface of the tool (8), then sliding along the cam surface of the tool (8) and then sliding along the main cone surface before crimping of the ball head with set strength.
EFFECT: full adjacency of the body rim to the crimped element and reduction of efforts necessary to form nondetachable connection and increase of force necessary for its destruction, and increase of reliability of deforming element.
