FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: ball joint can be used in ball supports of vehicle steerable wheels and hinge joints of steering mechanisms. Ball joint has housing, ball pin and shell in between provided with oval hole, and cover enclosing oval surface and fixed in upper part of housing. When assembling ball joint, ball head is installed in spherical seat of shell with oval hole and is fitted in housing. Then cover is installed. Longitudinal axes of oval holes of shell and cover are aligned with ball pin rolling plane, and shell and cover are fixed by radial upsetting of upper part of housing.
