FIELD: measurement.
SUBSTANCE: transverse slots of small width with low pitch are made on the due, and the lateral surface of the material of the cutting part of instrument is polished. The lateral polished surface of the instrument is illuminated with the beam of coherent monochromatic radiation, the interference pattern is formed in the object plane of video camera as the result of interaction of reflected beam and reference beam, the changes of interference pattern are registered continuously using video. Then the process of cutting is performed in the modes of interest, and the changes of interference patterns before cutting and in the moments of presence of cutting part of the instrument in the transverse slots of the due the temperature fields in the cutting part of the instrument in process of cutting are determined. After getting the temperature values for each reviewed point of the field of the cutting part of the instrument in each of the time moments of interest, the temperature field is defined again using the correction of values of coefficient of thermal expansion of instrument material depending on the temperature values received during previous determination of temperature field in the interested moment of time.
EFFECT: increased precision of temperature values determination alongside with the whole field of the cutting part of the instrument in process of cutting in real modes.
