FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, dermatology. A colouring material is applied on skin to surround an atrophic deformation by a reciprocating colouring bar of the width exceeding the skin deformation diameter to the travel direction and having a straight cut parallel to skin. A scale paper is attached to the coloured surface so that to make one of the pattern directions matched with a greater extension of the scar. The linear dimensions are marked on the imprint as a distance of the two most remote points located along a major axis of the uncoloured spot and the length of a perpendicular to the same axis related to the scar sections within its greater width. If the scar extends in relation to the skin surface, its diameter is considered to be its linear dimensions. The scar area is calculated by formula: S=a+b/2, where S is the atrophy area, a is a number of completely coloured mm-squares in the uncoloured spot, b is a number of partially coloured mm-squares in the uncoloured spot.

EFFECT: method provides simplification with higher measurement accuracy and reduced time for parameter determination of skin atrophy.
