FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to orthopedic dentistry, and can be used to increase the quality of orthopedic treatment. An anatomical impression of the upper or lower jaw is made. A plaster model is cast based on the impression. Using an impression mass made of A-silicone, a silicone index is produced, located over the entire surface of the hard palate of the working model. The oral surfaces of the teeth on the plaster model in front, on the right and on the left, and the line extending along the border between the hard and soft palate, on the back, respectively, serve as the borders. After complete hardening, the markup of future segments is applied to the produced silicone index without removing from the plaster working model of the upper jaw: to the silicone index of the upper jaw, the first one – from the gingival papilla located between the upper central incisors to the rear border of the index, and the subsequent ones – perpendicular to the first one, and interparallel lines extending over the gingival papillae of the teeth, located on both examined segments, starting from the gingival papillae located between the canines and premolars to the gingival papillae located between the molars; to the silicone index of the lower jaw, the first one – from the gingival papilla located between the lower central incisors to the rear border of the index, and the subsequent onex – perpendicular to the first one, and interparallel lines extending over the gingival papillae of the teeth, located on both examined segments, starting from the gingival papillae located between the canines and premolars to the gingival papillae located between the molars; the indexes are separated into segments according to the markup applied thereon, the contours of all segments are transferred to graph paper followed by conducting the subsequent measurements, on each segment: the average maxillary angle of the palatal arch is determined, corresponding to the angle of inclination of the facings of the maxillary teeth, located between the projection line of the palatomaxillary suture and the relief line of the hard palate, and the average mandibular angle - the angle located between the border of the alveolar process and the sagittal line of the index, corresponding to the angle of inclination of the facings of the mandibular teeth; the angle located between the projection line of the palatomaxillary suture and the tangent line crossing the most protruding point of the relief of the palate is determined for the upper jaw, and the angle located between the deepest point of the alveolar process and the sagittal line of the index is determined for the lower jaw; the corresponding angles are compared, and the level of functional asymmetry of the hard palate and the alveolar process of the mandible, and the degree of bone atrophy in the lateral parts are determined.
EFFECT: method, by means of morphometric examination of the teeth, the hard palate, the mandibular alveolar process by layer-by-layer measurement of the angles of inclination of the alveolar processes of the jaws, as well as the depth and length of the palatine arch, allows for optimisation and justification not only of the selection of the design of the denture, but also the structural material thereof, thereby increasing the quality of orthopedic treatment.
