SUBSTANCE: present invention refers to oral care compositions. An offered mouthwash composition for whitening and stain prevention contains: (a) 0.01 wt % to 10 wt % of a teeth whitening peroxide active substance; (b) 0.1 wt % to 5 wt % of a polyphosphorylated compound selected from: a linear polyphosphates having a chain length varying within 6 to 21; their alkaline metal, alkaline-earth metal or ammonium salts and their mixtures; and (c) an orally acceptable aqueous carrier; with the composition containing 45% to 95% of water, having pH 4.0 to 6.0, and being stable to peroxide loss for at least three months at 40°C. As a whitening agent, hydrogen peroxide or urea peroxide is preferential, while polyphosphate is the linear polyphosphate having a chain length varying within 6 to 21. The composition can contain a flavouring ingredient containing one or mixed fresh agents selected from menthol, carboxamides, ketals, diols and their mixtures.

EFFECT: composition provides effective teeth whitening and stain prevention, while showing storage stability.
