FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: in compliance with this invention, finish pinion cutter is used by rolling method reproducing engagement of two gear wheels. Note here that machined gear wheel is revolved while pinion cutter made up of spur gear with hub furnished with cutting edges on lateral face teeth is revolved and reciprocates. Pinion cutter teeth of working face are hollow with front angle of 10°…15°, while those on opposite face are blank with wall thickness of 3-4 mm. Note also that hub is made up of a sleeve with thickness not smaller than 3-4 mm coupled with toothed rim only on the side of nonworking face by crosspiece with thickness not smaller than 3-4 mm.
