SUBSTANCE: switch comprises a crosspiece with a movable spike and check rails (5, 6). Check rails (5, 6) in the area of the crosspiece spike have rail profile that is lower compared to the standard rail profile. The check rails (5, 6) are made as wide-foot rails and are made accordingly from one rail section. A section of check rails made with the lower rail profile is made by means of plastic deformation on the basis of the wide-foot rail profile.
EFFECT: development of a switch having a rail profile in the crosspiece spike area that is lower than the standard rail profile and that does not require a separate rail profile and connecting welds.
