SUBSTANCE: invention may be used to ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of power cables in various industries, and also to protect biological objects against negative effect of electromagnetic fields. The power cable additionally comprises a multilayer screen, made of tapes of amorphous and/or nanocrystalline soft magnetic alloys based on iron and/or cobalt with initial magnetic permeability of not below 10·103.

EFFECT: development of a new design of a power cable comprising an electromagnetic screen that considerably reduces the magnetic field level that is generated during operation and meets normative requirements.
