FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: electric heater with an inbuilt electronic control system comprises a heating element (1), which may be arranged, for instance, in the form of a metal shell, with at least one heating packet installed in it, which consists of a heating conductor installed inside the electric insulation material and having outputs taken out to a junction box (3) and electrically connected with a power controller (4), being an element of the electronic control system. The heating element (1) with one or both ends is fixed in a fixing unit, for instance, in a flange or jacket. The electric heater also comprises an electronic control system. The electronic control system consists of a power controller (4), of a temperature controller (5) electrically connected to it and of a temperature sensor (6), installed inside the heating element (1) and electrically connected to the temperature controller (5). The temperature (6) sensor may be arranged in the form of a thermistor or a thermocouple. The power controller (4) and the temperature controller (5) are installed in separate casings (7) and (8) accordingly. The casing (7) of the power controller (4) is arranged as ribbed. The electronic control system may additionally comprise a sensor (10) of heated medium temperature, electrically connected to the temperature controller (5) and placed into a protective, for instance, tubular shell (11), which is rigidly connected with the fixing unit.

EFFECT: reliability of an electric heater, safety in operation in explosive areas, higher resource of its operation, higher accuracy of heating elements and heated medium temperature maintenance and control, convenience of operation and assembly.
